I strongly condemn the terror attack on our Army camp in Jammu in which 6 Indians have been martyred. All Indians, across political lines, stand united with our Army men and women. My prayers and thoughts are with the families of those killed and injured.
– Rahul Gandhi on Twitter
The army tightened cordon so that the terrorists could be neutralised.
The security forces were cautious in their approach as terrorists were near the residential quarters where families of the armymen are staying.
Meanwhile, a pregnant woman who was injured in the attack yesterday delivered a baby. The woman Parmjeet Kaur is a relative of Honarary Lt. Madan Lal Choudhary, who was martyred in yesterday’s attack.
What happened in Sunjwan terror attack?
– Four terrorists of Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed managed to sneak into the Sunjwan military base near Jammu on Saturday morning and attacked army residential area in which two junior commissioned officers were martyred while nine others were injured, including women and a Major, from the 6 Mahar Regiment.
– In the operations, the troops of the 6 Mahar Regiment and army’s Para Special Forces eliminated three terrorists even as the force geared up for further operations.
– Army sources said the terrorists wearing combat dress and carrying AK-56 assault rifles used a nullah along the military station to gain entry into the station, but they were spotted and challenged by the sentries deployed there.
– It was because of this early detection that enabled the troops to corner the terrorists in one corner of the military station in three-storey residential quarters of JCOs and jawans.
