The operation of the security forces against the terrorists is going on in Jammu and Kashmir. Late Monday night, security forces surrounded two terrorists at Kanimazar Nawakdal area of Srinagar.
One of the trapped terrorists was Junaid Sehrai, son of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat chairperson Ashraf Sehrai. Total two terrorists were neutralised on Tuesday afternoon.
Security forces said that late night Junaid Sehrai was reported to be hiding in Nawakdal area of Srinagar. After this the operation was started. Junaid Sehrai and one of his companions were neutralised in this operation which continued till Tuesday afternoon.
Junaid Sehrai joined Hizbul in March 2018, when his father Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai was appointed the chairperson of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat in place of Syed Ali Shah Geelani. Junaid went missing after Friday prayers and took up arms. It is being told that Hizbul made Junaid the deputy chief commander.
In view of this encounter, calling and mobile internet service has been suspended in the entire Srinagar. Only BSNL service is operational. All other private companies have stopped their service for the time being.
