2,750 Tonnes Of Ammonium Nitrate Exploded In Capital Of Lebanon

Nearly 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate were exploded in Beirut, Capital of Lebanon. It was stored in the Beirut port warehouse that exploded Tuesday. At least 78 people lost their lives and more than 4000 people injured in this massive blast.

“It is unacceptable that a shipment of 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate has been present for six years in a warehouse, without taking preventive measures,” Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab said.
