29 Dead In ISIS Attack In Afghanistan, One IS Attacker Belonged To Kerala

29 people lost their livesĀ in the Islamic State attack in Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar province in eastern Afghanistan on 3 August. At least 10 ISIS terrorists involved in this attack. They were neutralised by the Afghan forces.

ISIS claimed the responsibility of this attack and released the picture of attackers of Jalalabad jail attack. According to IS statement, 3 IS operatives from India, along with 1 Pakistani, 3 Afghans, 3 Tajiks were responsible for the attack.

According to top intelligence sources, One Islamic state terrorist in Jalalabad jail attack in Afghanistan has been identified as Kalukettiya Purayil Ijas from Kasargod, Kerala. He had fled with his family from Kasargod in Kerala in 2016. He had reached Muscat from the Hyderabad airport before reaching Afghanistan. His wife Rafaela and child are in custody of Afghan forces.

Ijas Kallukettiya Purayil belonged to Kasargod Module of Islamic state and he is also on NIA’s most wanted list.

In March, 2020, Kabul Gurudwara attack was also carried out by an IS operative who belonged to Kannur district of Kerala.
