4 Indian Army & 1 JK Police personnel Lost Their Lives In Handwara, Kashmir

An encounter took place between the army and the terrorists in Handwara of Jammu and Kashmir. The army has neutralised two foreign terrorists in this encounter. 5 soldiers including two army officers lost their lives in this operation. The soldiers who lost their lives include a colonel, a major, two army personnel and a sub-inspector of the Jammu and Kashmir Police.

Colonel Ashutosh Sharma, commanding officer of 21-Rashtriya Rifles lost their lives in this operation. Colonel Ashutosh was part of many successful operations. He had been part of several successful counter-terrorist operations in the past. He had been twice awarded gallantry medals for exemplary bravery in counter-terrorist Mission.

Major Anuj Sood of 21 RR sacrificed his life while fighting against terrorists in Handwara in Kashmir. He was just 31 years old.
