On the occasion of Republic Day, 5 major blasts took place in 3 districts of Assam. These blasts took place on Sunday morning when there was Republic Day celebrations in entire nation.
Explosions were carried out by grenades at 5 places in the state. The 3 blasts were carried out in Dibrugarh district, one blast in Charaideo district and one blast Tinsukia district. However, there is no information about any casualties in these blasts so far.

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has condemned the blasts in Assam. Chief Minister has directed State Director General Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta to keep control of the situation and apprehend those who have been involved in the blasts.
