A group of 83 individuals from coronavirus-hit Italy are being quarantined at Indian Army quarantine facility in Manesar. According to Indian Army sources, these people created ruckus and demanded special facilities like independent rooms. These people also created ruckus in functioning of medical and administrative staff at Manesar facility center of Indian Army.

After the ruckus, The Police were called in to handle the situation. The Police and Indian Army personnel explained that this is not a “luxury resort”.
According to Indian Army sources, The Army has committed 60 personnel to run the Manesar Facility and Indian Army is spending nearly Rs 3.5 lakhs per day to run this quarantine facility in Manesar.
These 83 people had arrived from Italy on an Air India flight (AI138) on 11 March. They were immediately taken to the Manesar quarantine facility run by the Indian Army.
In the group of 83 people, 74 individuals are Indians, the remaining nine are foreigners of Indian-origin — six Italians and three US nationals.
