One Indian Army soldiers made supreme sacrifice in the line of duty, while another one is still missing near Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Arunachal Pradesh. They were swept away in the waters on July 22 during patrolling in the high altitude area in Arunachal Pradesh.
They were identified as Sepoy Lakhveer Singh & Satwinder Singh(missing). They were part of 4 Sikh LI regiment of Indian Army. The body of Sepoy Lakhveer Singh was recovered Monday and efforts are being made to find Sepoy Satwinder Singh’s body.
Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh announced ex-gratia of Rs 50 lakh and a government job each to a family member of both soldiers. Sepoy Lakhveer Singh is survived by his wife Namdeep Kaur. Sepoy Satwinder Singh is survived by his parents.

“The soldiers were part of a patrol in an area near the LAC in Arunachal Pradesh on July 22. While crossing a bridge on a fast flowing nallah in the high altitude area, they fell down and were swept away while trying to save each other,” The Punjab CMO said.
