Amid India-China Tension, Govt To Send 11,000 Workers To Complete Projects Near China Border

Amid tensions at the Indo-China border, the central government has started preparing to complete the ongoing projects in the border area. The Border Road Organisation (BRO) has appealed to the Railways to provide 11 special trains to transport around 11,000 workers from Jharkhand for road construction near the borders in Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.

According to sources, around 8,200 workers are required for projects in Ladakh and 2,500 for projects in J&K, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

It is being told that these initiatives have been taken for the purpose of completing the projects of the Border Road Organisation(BRO) running in the border areas. 

A BRO team reached Dumka and Deoghar districts in Jharkhand to bring labourers on May, 30.

The Border Road Organisation (BRO) has prepared to send all such labourers to complete the ongoing construction works in the border area. For this, 11 trains have been sought from the Railways, so that labourers from Jharkhand can be transported to Ladakh, Himachal and Jammu & Kashmir.

According to railways officials, the trains will drop the labourers at Udhampur station, from where they will be taken to Leh, Ladakh, Srinagar and Kargil areas.
