The Home Ministry headed by Amit Shah is now taking steps towards increase the strength of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). The current strength of CISF is 1.80 lakh and it is being increased from 1.80 lakh to 3 lakh.
A special proposal has been prepared for this. Recruitment will be done on contract basis for the first time in CISF. Appointment will be for five years on contract basis. In this, retired personnel of army and paramilitary forces will be given a chance.
On November 18, Special DG, ADG and Sector IG of the force has been informed by the CISF Headquarters about the this decisions of the Union Home Ministry. It also says that CISF officials should go to private companies or factories in the private sector to find out whether CISF can be deployed there or not.
On May 27 this year, a proposal to increase the strength of CISF was sent to the Union Home Ministry by the CISF headquarters. In this, it was asked to increase the number of forces from 1.8 lakh to 2.15 lakh. There was also a proposal to establish four reserve battalions in this proposal.
On September 23, the Home Ministry had a meeting under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to consider the CISF demand. It was decided in this meeting that the force number of CISF will be increased from 1.8 lakh to 3 lakh.
