Amit Shah may unfurl Tricolour at Srinagar’s Lal Chowk on Independence Day

In a historical move, Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah might visit to Srinagar to unfurl the tricolour at Lal Chowk on Independence Day, August 15.

Security officials of state Jammu & kashmir have not yet confirmed the historic visit of Home minister Amit Shah. Sources in Home ministry said that Amit Shah’s visit to the Valley is expected, but exact dates cannot be shared with the media at the moment.

“It’s a security concern. Amid escalating tension between the two countries (India-Pakistan), the Home Minister’s visit cannot be revealed in advance,” the official told the news agency IANS.

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval is already in Jammu & Kashmir and monitoring all the security measures in J&K. It is reported the all the security measures for visit of Home Minister Amit Shah have been already ensured.

Security experts believe that if Shah hoists the Tricolour from Lal Chowk on Independence Day, it could send a strong message to Pakistan.
