Army Chief Bipin Rawat to Students in Colleges: leadership does not mean leading people to violence

Indian Army Chief Bipin Rawat has commented on ongoing protests against the citizenship amendment act (CAA) and National Register of Citizen (NRC) in an event. He said that the leaders are not those who take the crowd in the wrong direction. Leaders are those who take care and protect the people and the team. The army is proud of its culture.

Speaking at an event,  Army Chief Bipin Rawat said, “Leaders are not those who lead people in inappropriate direction. As we are witnessing in large number of universities & colleges, students the way they are leading masses & crowds to carry out arson & violence in cities & towns. This is not leadership.”

After this Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi replied to Army Chief Bipin Rawat and said, “leadership is about knowing the limits of one’s office”.
