Bangladesh Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momeen said that his country has requested India to provide a list of Bangladeshi nationals who are living there illegally. His country is ready to take them back such people. He said this in response to a question about the National Register of Citizenship (NRC).
AK Momeen had canceled his visit to India on Thursday, saying he was very busy. He said that Bangladesh-India relations are normal and have no effect on it. He said that India has described the NRC process as its internal issue and assured Dhaka that it would not make any difference to Bangladesh.
AK Momeen dismissed speculation that some Indians were illegally entering Bangladesh. Talking to the media, he said that apart from our citizens, whoever enters Bangladesh will send it back.
The Foreign Minister has requested New Delhi to provide the list Bangladeshis living illegally in India so that they can call them back to their country. They said, we will call them back (Bangladesh citizens) because they have the right to enter their own country.
“We will allow them (Bangladesh citizens) as they have the right to enter into their own country,” said Bangladeshi Foreign minister AK Momeen.
