The Air India flight (IX-1344) from Dubai carrying 191 passengers skidded during landing at Karipur Airport in Kozhikode (Kerala) today. There were 6 crew members onboard, including two pilots. 17 people have lost their lives including the pilot of the aircraft.
Captain Dipak Vasant Sathe, pilot of the Air India flight, has died in today’s crash at Kozhikode in Kerala. He was a former Indian Air Force Pilot and he Also flew Airbus 310 for Air India before moving to Air India Express on Boeing 737.
He won Sword of Honour at Air Force Academy during his training period. he was an accomplished fighter pilot. He was also a HAL test pilot and an instructor at Air Force Training Academy.
