After Chandrayaan-2, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is preparing for the Chandrayaan-3 mission. ISRO has demanded extra Rs 75 crores from Central Govt as an addition to existing budget.
It has been sought only for Chandrayaan-3 mission in addition to the budget already allocated to ISRO. It has been confirmed from the Finance Ministry that the budget for Chandrayaan-3 has been sought by ISRO.
This budget has been sought under the provisions of the supplementary budget for the current financial year. Out of this, 60 crore rupees have been sought for machinery, equipment and other expenses and the remaining 15 crores as revenue expenditure. Sources have said that ISRO has been assured by the Govt for this money but the process has not been completed yet.

ISRO has asked for a total budget of Rs 666 crore during 2019-2020, out of which more than 11% has been sought for Chandrayaan-3 only. Out of 666 crores, 8.6 crores have been sought for the development of 2022 proposed human spaceflight program, Rs 12 Crores for small satellite launch vehicles and Rs 120 crore for development of new launchpad.
The highest demand has been for the UR Rao Satellite Center and the Satish Dhawan Space Center. Rs 516 crore has been demanded for both.
