There have been many incidents in India regarding Tik Tok. For some time this Chinese app was also banned in India. It was also removed from Google Play Store, but now this app is running in India.
Steve Huffman, co-founder and CEO of the American social discussion website Reditt, described the TikTok app as parasite. According to a report by Tech Crunch, Tik Tok works like a Spyware. Spyware means apps that spy on people.
Reditt CEO Steve Huffman said about Tik Tok, “I look at that app as so fundamentally parasitic, that it’s always listening, the fingerprinting technology they use is truly terrifying, and I could not bring myself to install an app like that on my phone.”
“I actively tell people, ‘Don’t install that spyware on your phone,” Reditt CEO Steve Huffman said about Tik Tok
The relationship of this app with controversy is not new. Questions have been arising from time to time regarding this app.
Tik Tok is more popular in India than in other countries. Significantly, the TikTok app has been downloaded 1.5 billion times worldwide. In India, 34.1% of the entire download has been downloaded in India.
This is the app of Chinese company Byte dance and it is now on the way to compete with the social media like Facebook. According to a report by Censor Tower, it has been downloaded more than the Facebook app worldwide last year.
