USA has arrested a chinese researcher who took refuge in the Chinese consulate in San Francisco after allegedly lying to investigators about her Chinese military service.
Juan Tang, a Chinese researcher at the University of California entered in USA on fake visa and hid her relation with Chinese army. She arrived in USA on non-immigrant J1 visa while she served in the Chinese military.
Juan Tang has been charged in a California court for concealing facts. USA alleged that China is sending military-related undercover scientists to the US as part of a planned program.
Juan Tang was an uniformed officer of the People’s Liberation Army Air Force.
According to FBI, Juan Tang, was a biology researcher at the University of California. She hid her relation with the Chinese Army. However, an investigation found some such pictures of Juan Tang in which she is seen in the uniform of the Chinese Army. After searching her house, other evidence of her relationship with the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China has also been found.
