Delhi Police files FIR against Shehla Rashid for spreading fake news about Army

A sedition case has been registered against Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) alumnus and Kashmiri leader Shehla Rashid. Shehla is accused of spreading fake news against the Indian army. Shehla had made several tweets on August 18 where she accused the Indian army of committing atrocities with Kashmiri people. The army had called these allegations false. After this, the Special Cell of Delhi Police has filed a sedition case against Shehla Rashid today.

Delhi Police Special Cell has filed an FIR against Shehla Rashid under sections of 124a, 153a, 153, 504 and 505 of the IPC. FIR has been filed for the fake tweets against Indian Army in Kashmir.

Shehla Rashid tweeted, “Armed forces are entering houses at night, picking up boys, ransacking houses, deliberately spilling rations on the floor, mixing oil with rice, etc. “
