On February 3, a Chinese ship was captured by the Indian Customs officials at Kandla Port in Gujarat. After investigation, experts of Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) have now confirmed that the autoclaves seized from the cargo of the Chinese ship ‘Da Cui Yun’ were to be used to manufacture very long range ballistic missiles or satellite launching rockets.
According to DRDO sources, This autoclave was to be used to make a long-range missile launcher. This distance can be 1500 kilometers or even more. Pakistan has a Shaheen-II missile with a range of 1500 to 2000 km. Pakistan has also tested it in May last year.
On 3rd Feb, This ship was intercepted after receiving information from intelligence agencies and top security institutions. According to the report, the name of this ship is Da Cui Yun.
This ship was going to Karachi port in Pakistan. The ship sailed from the Jiangyin port on the Yangtze river in China’s Jiangsu province to Qasim port in Karachi. On the way, it was stopped at Kandla port by Indian custom department.
China’s reply to allegations by DRDO regarding the autoclave seized from a vessel :
The Pakistan bound merchant vessel from China was detained by India, but the autoclave on the ship that India claimed to be material for ballistic missiles is neither military supplies nor dual-use items under non-proliferation and export control. pic.twitter.com/rHmUPfsEow— Lijian Zhao 赵立坚 (@zlj517) March 5, 2020
