First Indian Army Jawan Tests Positive For Coronavirus

An Indian Army jawan in Ladakh has been tested positive for Coronavirus on Monday. He is the first Indian Army jawan who has been tested postive for Covid-19.

According to sources, Jawan’s father had travelled to Iran for pilgrimage and returned to Indian on February 27. After returning from Iran, his father was tested positive for COVID-19 on mArch 6.

The 34-year-old jawan belongs to Ladakh scout of Indian Army. He was on casual leave from February 25 to March 1. He rejoined his duty on march 2. Even though soldier had rejoined from his leave, he was helping his family also during quarantine period and was staying at Chuchot village for sometime as well.

After his father tested positive on March 6, The jawan was also quarantined on March 7. He has been tested positive for COVID-19 on March 16.

The jawan is being given treatment at SNM hospital while his family, including his sister and wife, have been put in a quarantine in Ladakh.
