Two years ago, Garud commando ‘Jyoti Prakash Nirala’ sacrificed his life in fight with terrorists. He belonged to Rohtas, Bihar. He was awarded with Ashoka chakra for his bravery.
Ashok Chakra winner, Garuda commando Jyoti Prakash Nirala’s sister was married few days ago. In this marriage, dozens of friends of Nirala joined the martyr’s sister weeding. In the marriage of his martyred friend’s sister, these jawans did not allow the bride’s feet to fall on the ground while performing the rituals of brother and wherever the bride’s feet fell, the soldiers had laid their palms before. After seeing the Garuda commandos of the Air Force, the entire village was feeling proud.
Martyr’s sister, bride Shashikala says that when she was getting married, she was not allowed to feel the lackage of her brother. Husband of sashikala, Sujit Kumar is also very happy with such a warm gesture.
Jyoti Prakash Nirala, a resident of the Rohtas district, had been martyred by killing six terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir two years ago. Posthumously the President honored him with Ashok Chakra. Martyred Jyoti Prakash was only son of his parents with three sisters. When Shashikala got married, more than 20 Garud commandos, who were his(Nirala) friends, attended the marriage and paid the brother’s duty.
IAF’s Garud Commandos also contributed Rs 5 lakhs in wedding expenses. Also, such warm gesture to the martyr’s sister who became an example for the surrounding area. The father of the martyr is proud of this. That his son is not with him today, yet his son’s friends have given him satisfaction by paying the brother’s duty.
There was a collection of Rs. 500/- per head from all the Commando Officers and ORs from IAF, which amounting to Rs. 5 Lakh, the cheque was handed over to the father of Jyoti Prakash Nirala on behalf of all the Air force Garud Commandos.
