Gauri Prasad Mahadik wife of late Major Prasad Mahadik has joined the Indian Army as an officer, after the passing out parade on 7th March from Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai.
Major Prasad Mahadik lost his life at the Indo-China border in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh in December 2017.
Gauri Prasad Mahadik qualified for training at the OTA Chennai after clearing the interview of Service Selection Board (SSB) last year. After rigorous training of 49 weeks at Officer training Academy(OTA) Chennai, Gauri Prasad Mahadik has joined the Indian Army as an officer.

Her husband was in Infantry so she also wants to join combat forces in future. Currently she cannot join the combat forces. “He was in infantry, right now I can’t join combat forces but if tomorrow given a chance I would definitely like to join the combat forces,” she said.
Late Major Prasad Mahadik belonged to Virar in Maharashtra’s Palghar district. He joined the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai and was commissioned on March 17, 2012. Major Mahadik married Gauri on February 15, 2015. He died in a fire on December 30, 2017, in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang district.
