Govt says in loksabha: Infiltration down by 43% this year

In Jammu and Kashmir, cross-border infiltration has reduced by 43% in the first half of 2019 . The government gave this information in parliament on Tuesday and told that the fencing on the Indo-Pak border will be completed by March 2020.

Minister of State in Ministry of Home affairs, Shri G. Kishan Reddy told the Lok Sabha in a written reply that the government has adopted a policy of zero tolerance against cross border infiltration.

Regarding the situation of fencing on the Indo-Pak border, the minister said that the government has sanctioned 2,069.06 kilometer fencing, out of which 2,004.666 kms of fencing has been completed and the remaining 64.38 kms is under construction. And it will be completed by March 2020.

Govt also informed that terror incidents down by 28%, local recruitment down by 40% & neutralisation of militants increased by 22%.

Minister of State in Ministry of Home affairs, Shri G. Kishan Reddy also told the Lok Sabha in a written reply that A multi Disciplinary terror monitoring Group (TMG) has been constituted in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. This TMG has constituted to ensure synergized and concerted action against terror financing and other terror related activities in the state of Jammu & Kashmir.
