If Parliament wants PoK, then it should be ours: Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane

Indian Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Narwane said that if Parliament wants PoK (Pakistan-occupied Kashmir), then it should belong to us. The army chief said, “It is a parliamentary resolution that the entire Kashmir is a part of India. If Parliament said that that area (PoK) should also be ours and give us orders, then we will take appropriate action for it.”

New Army Chief General Mukund Narwane said on Saturday that Siachen is very important for us. In his first press conference, giving a confident message, he said that security is our priority, there is no compromise with security.

Army Chief said that the formation of CDS is an important step, the formation of CDS will strengthen the army. He said that coordination between the three armed forces is necessary, we will do planning keeping in mind the future challenges and threats and the budget will be used on a priority basis.

He said, ‘The Indian Army is better prepared today than before. The appointment of the Chief of Defense Staff and creation of the Department of Military Affairs is a major step towards integration and we will ensure from our part that it will successful.

On the need to balance the army along the Pakistan and China border, Narwane said, “There is a need for balance as both northern and western borders need equal attention.”

Talking about the J&K situation, Army Chief thanked the local police and administration who support Indian Army in every situation. he also thanked people of Jammu & Kashmir.
