Indian Army jawan Saurabh Katara martyred after 16 days of his marriage

Saurabh Katara, The son of Barauli Brahmin village in Bharatpur district of Rajasthan, was martyred in the bomb blast in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. 

On November 16, Saurabh Katara had come to home on a month’s leave and after making his sister’s wedding on November 23, he became a groom himself. Saurabh was married on 8 December. 

Saurabh Katara returned to his duty last week after marriage when his leave was over. On Tuesday night, Saurabh lost his life in the bomb blast in Kupwara.

Saurabh’s birthday was also on 25 December. His wife Poonam and elder sister both went to Jajampatti Rasulpur home. It is being told that the two sisters came to the village Barauli Brahmin from Pihar on Monday, where wife Poonam was preparing to celebrate the birthday of husband Saurabh at home. Both sisters were waiting on Wednesday to wish Saurabh for his birthday, but before that, happiness in the house was changed into mourning..

Saurabh, son of Naresh Katara, was recruited in the army three years ago. His father Naresh Katara was also in Indian Army who retired in 2002. He participated in Kargil war 1999.
