Army Chief M.M. Naravane said that the army is preparing to deal with Coronavirus at different levels. This includes increasing the productivity of surveillance and isolation, preparing an isolation ward of 45 beds in army hospitals on different bases and also an ICU ward of 10 beds. This facility can be prepared on just 6 hours notice.
The army chief admitted that it is very difficult to say what kind of situations are ahead, but the army and the country are ready to face any kind of challenge. Due to this, training is also being given at different levels in the army in the last 2-3 months. He is also reviewing it daily.
