Indian Army To Set Up Quarantine Facilities For 1500 Personnel

The Indian Army is planning to set up quarantine facilities for 1500 personnel in view of the novel Coronavirus outbreak. The facilities will be activated at locations as part of the overall effort of the Government. Tentative locations identified are Jaisalmer, Suratgarh, Secundrabad, Chennai and Kolkata.

Indian Army Headquarter has also issued detailed instructions on preparations and emergency response to Coronavirus. Military hospitals will also establish isolation wards for Coronavirus patients.

Suspected people with Coronavirus are kept in these quarantine facilities center. If they are found negative after 14 days, then they are sent back to their home. But if they are found positive, then they are shifted to specialised hospitals identified for the Coronavirus.

At present, there are two such quarantine facilities center in the country, one is in Manesar, which is operated by the Indian army and the other is in the Chawla area of ​​Delhi, which is operated by ITBP. After the outbreak of the Coronavirus in China, Indian citizens who were brought to Delhi from Wuhan, were kept in both quarantine facilities center.

Apart from this, 119 Indians and citizens of other countries who were brought to India from Japan’s Diamond Princess Ship are currently in Manesar Center. At present, 112 people have also been kept in the ITBP center who returned from China.
