A MiG-29K trainer aircraft of the Indian Navy operating over sea reported ditched at about 1700h on 26 Nov 20. According to the Indian Navy, there was an accident with MiG-29K at around 5 pm on Thursday evening and the aircraft ditched into the sea. One pilot of the fighter aircraft has been found while another pilot is being searched.
According to the Indian Navy, An inquiry has been ordered to investigate the incident. This aircraft was being used as a trainer aircraft. A search operation is being conducted to find the second pilot of the aircraft. One missing pilot is being searched by conducting operations by air and water in the sea area.

According to the statement of the Indian Navy, this MiG-29K was deployed on INS Vikramaditya. This is the third mishap of MiG-29K aircraft in the last one year.
The Indian Navy has a fleet of over 40 MiG-29K fighter aircraft based out of Goa and also operated from the INS Vikramaditya aircraft carrier.
