India’s L&T to export Patrol Boats to Vietnam. Larsen & Toubro, commonly known as L&T, is an Indian multi-national firm headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
L&T got a major order from the Vietnam Border Guard for the design and construction of high-speed patrol boats in India, as well as the transfer of design and technology along with equipment supply and material kits for construction of follow-on vessels at Vietnam Shipyard.

The high-speed patrol boats are purpose-built for controlling and protecting sea security and sovereignty, detecting illegal activities such as smuggling, and undertaking search-and-rescue missions.
Constructed from aluminium alloy, the vessels will be equipped with state-of-the-art navigation and surveillance equipment and self-defence capabilities on board.
India is also about to activate satellite tracking station in Vietnam. Meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Xuan Phuc in New Delhi was followed by exchange of two pacts, including one on Indian Space Research Organization’s Data Reception and Tracking and Telemetry Station at Ho Chi Minh City.
Beijing already cried foul over the new facility as it would give India a strategic edge in a region often perceived to be a backyard of China.
