Islamic organisation PFI was behind the Lucknow protest, 3 PFI member arrested

Uttar Pradesh police has controlled the violence that erupted in protest against the Citizenship Amendment Bill. Amidst all this, the UP Police has busted the mastermind behind these protests. UP Police has arrested Nadeem, Wasim and Ashfaq of Popular Front of India (PFI), the mastermind of spreading violence in Lucknow.

According to report, Nadeem has been arrested from Barabanki. When the police started search operation, the mastermind Nadeem left Lucknow and fled to Barabanki. It is being told that along with Nadeem, the police has arrested accused named Wasim (Lucknow) and Ashfaq (Barabanki). They are all members of PFI.

Uttar Pradesh police confirmed that the Popular Front of India was involved in the violent protests on 19 December. During the investigation, the police first arrested a person named Wasim. Wasim is a resident of Indira Nagar and is the state president of PFI. After the arrest of Wasim, the state treasurer of PFI Nadeem and the division president of PFI Ashfaq were also arrested by Police.

Police investigation has revealed that Nadeem, Ashfaq and Wasim’s other associates had planned to spread violence. The police have recovered a huge amount of inflammatory material from these people.

“The PFI also distributed pamphlets, placards and other offensive material on the Citizenship Act and National Register of Citizens (NRC) to people in various colonies and also on the social media,” the Senior superintendent of police (SSP), Lucknow, Kalanidhi Naithani said.
