Director General of Indo-Tibetan Border Police SS Deswal has awarded DG Commendation Rolls and Discs to 291 ITBP personnel during a week long visit to Ladakh based units of ITBP last week. 291 jawans have been awarded for their gallantry during the June standoff with the Chinese PLA in eastern Ladakh.

This was the first visit of the ITBP DG to Ladakh after the recent face-off between Indian and Chinese soldiers. The ITBP DG visited to many forward posts and congratulated the soldiers. During this period, the infrastructure and logistics arrangements available in forward posts were also reviewed.

In the sainik sammelans held to honour jawans at various BOPs, ITBP DG SS Deswal praised the troops for their courage under challenges and adverse conditions.
