ITBP Recommends 21 Jawans Who Fought Chinese Troops In Ladakh For Gallantry Medals

The Indo-Tibetan Police Force (ITBP) has recommended the name of 21 soldiers for Gallantry Award at this year’s Independence Day who bravely fought against Chinese troops in Eastern Ladakh in the months of May and June 2020. ITBP Director General SS Deswal has recommended 21 Gallantry Awards.

During the stand-off with the Chinese troops on the Ladakh border, these soldiers not only became a shield, but also fiercely fought against the soldiers of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and kept the situation under their control. With this, the ITBP jawans fought shoulder to shoulder and also brought back the wounded soldiers of the army.

These ITBP soldiers fought all night against the Chinese army. The jawans also responded to the stone pelting done by the PLA. These soldiers fought the Chinese army for about 17 to 20 hours. The special thing is that during this fight, ITBP received minimum casualties while giving befitting reply to the stone pelters of the PLA.

Apart from this, 6 soldiers who have campaigned against Naxalites in Chhattisgarh have also been awarded Gallantry Award. The paramilitary forces have recommended the names of 318 ITBP personnel and 40 other CAPFs personnel for the Union Home Minister Special Operation Medals for their dedicated services in fight against the COVID-19.
