Kerala: Six convicted in ISIS Terror Link Case by NIA Court

National Investigation Agency (NIA) Court has convicted six people for plotting the attack in Kerala and neighboring states. These people were arrested three years ago by NIA in a conspiracy to carry out terrorist attacks. In this case one person has been acquitted.

The case was registered suo-motu by NIA, based on credible information regarding the conspiracy and the consequent formation of the ISIS/ Daish-inspired terrorist module Ansarul Khilafa-KL, during August, 2016, by the accused persons and their associates.

Five accused persons were arrested by NIA on 2nd October, 2016 from Kanakamala in Kannur district, when they had assembled as part of their preparations to conduct terrorist attacks in Kerala targeting prominent persons including Judges, Politicians and Police Officers besides at places of tourist importance in Tamil Nadu where foreigners, especially Jews, congregate.

Six people named as Manseed Muhmood, Swalih Mohammed, Rashid Ali, Ramshad N. K., Safvan P., and Moinudheen P. K. are convicted in ISIS Omar Al-Hindi Module Case.

Accused Manseed Muhmood has been convicted u/s 120B of IPC besides sections 17, 18, 18B, 38, 39 and 40 of UA(P) Act. He has been sentenced to 14 years of Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) besides fine of Rs. 15,000. He belongs to Kannur district, Kerala.

Accused Swalih Mohammed has been convicted u/s 120B of IPC besides sections 17, 18, 18B, 38, 39 and 40 of UA(P) Act. He has been sentenced to 10 years of RI, besides fine of Rs. 15,000. He belongs to Thrissur district, Kerala

Accused Rashid Ali has been convicted u/s 120B of IPC besides sections 17, 18, 18B, 38, 39 and 40 of UA(P) Act. He has been sentenced to 7 years of RI, besides fine of Rs. 15,000. He belongs to Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

Accused Ramshad N. K. has been convicted u/s 120B of IPC besides sections 38 and 39 of UA(P) Act. He has been sentenced to 3 years of RI, besides fine of Rs. 25,000. He belongs to Kozhikode district, Kerala.

Accused Safvan P has been convicted u/s 120B of IPC besides sections 18, 18B, 38 and 39 of UA(P) Act. He has been sentenced to 8 years of RI, besides fine of Rs. 10,000. He belongs to Malappuram district, Kerala.

Accused Moinudheen P. K. has been convicted u/s 120B of IPC besides sections 38, 39 and 40 of UA(P) Act. He has been sentenced to 3 years of RI, besides fine of Rs. 50,000. He belongs to Kasaragod district, Kerala.
