A group of students disrupted an event in London which was organised to call for the restoration of Article 370 i.e This event was organised to oppose the decision of Indian Govt of abrogating Article 370 from State of Jammu & Kashmir.
The title of the event was ‘Resisting Fascism building Solidarities – India: Kashmir and beyond’ which was organised by the South Asia Solidarity Group at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), the University of London.
The main aim of this event was to criticise the decision taken by Indian government in Jammu & Kashmir. Kavita Krishnan, Politburo member of CPIML and Dr Nitasha Kaul of Westminster University had been invited to give speech against the removal of Article 370.
While the event was going on, A group of 5 people wearing Black mask came and disrupted this event with slogans like: ‘Gay for J&K‘ and ‘370 is homophobic‘.
Before the Removal of Article 370 from Jammu & kashmir, There was no right for LGBTQ community but when Indian Government removed this Article 370 then It gave the rights to Gay community in J&K too. Now LGBTQ community has right to live with dignity in J&K and because of this reason, LGBTQ community across the world, support the removal of Article 370 from state of J&K.
The masked men said that those who oppose the removal of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, support homophobia and its removal means LGBTQ community gets equal rights in J&K among other minorities.
As Kavita Krishnan was spewing venom against Indian government in UK for axing #Article370 , LGBTQ activists there, barged in to protest against her and for the abrogation of 370 as it now gives gay community in #Kashmir right to live with dignity. pic.twitter.com/6Mx9shGhFu
