Modi govt has approved Rs. 3048 crores additional help to kerala

The High Level Committee (HLC) has approved additional assistance from National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) of Rs 3048.39 crores to Kerala. While Modi Govt has decided to give 131.16 crores rupees to Nagaland and Rs 539.52 crores to Andhra Pradesh. As we know that in August this year there was a devastation flood due to rain. More than 400 people died in this disaster while thousands of people were displaced.

Union Home Ministry spokesperson said that on Thursday, a high level committee headed by Home Minister Rajnath Singh approved this additional amount. In which Rs. 3048.39 crore to Kerala, Rs. 539.52 crore to Andhra Pradesh and Rs. 131.16 crore to Nagaland will be given. This amount is less than the amount demanded by the Government of Kerala. The Kerala Government had demanded Rs. 4700 crores as compensation.

The centre had sanctioned an amount of Rs 600 crore as an advance amount for relief and rehabilitation work in August for the state and Now centre is going to give Rs 3048.39 crore to kerala again as a relief fund.

The union finance minister, Arun Jaitley, union minister for agriculture, Radha Mohan Singh, union home secretary, Rajiv Gauba and senior officers of the ministries of home affairs, finance and agriculture were present in the meeting.
