Mother Of Hizbul Terrorist Booked Under UAPA For Involvement In Terror Activities

Naseema Bano, mother of a neutralised Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) terrorist has been booked under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) in Kulgam district of south Kashmir. Her son Tausif Sheikh, a Hizbul commander was neutralised by security forces in May 2018.

Naseema Bano, wife of Abdul Salam Sheikh, Resident of Rampora Qaimoh, was arrested on June 20 in a raid on her house in Rampora village of Qaimoh in Kulgam district under the FIR number 30 of 2020 under sections 13B, 17, 18, 18B, 19 and 39 of the UAPA for allegedly motivating youth in southern Kulgam to join terrorist ranks.

Naseema Bano is involved in a serious criminal cases. Her photo with an automatic weapon and pose next to her son who was an active terrorist at the time speaks it all. The photo is just the beginning of her criminal involvements. She is involved in much more serious offences and her role has surfaced in recruiting at least 2 youth into terrorist ranks, arranging arms ammunition, communication and logistics for terrorist organisation.

Many social media posts have been generated and shared which have twisted the facts of matter in order to cause disturbance. Police has taken cognisance of the matter and anyone trying to instigate others through whatsoever means will be prosecuted against.

“Jammu and Kashmir Police does not target family of terrorists without evidence. Sister of active terrorist Abbas Sheikh & mother of neutralised terrorist Tausif, Naseema Banoo was arrested on 20 June 2020 in FIR 30/2018. Besides, recent involvement in recruiting youth into terrorist ranks,” IGP Kashmir said.
