NCP leader arrested in Gadchiroli Naxal attack case, 15 commandos were martyred

Maharashtra Police arrested NCP leader Kailash Ramchandani in connection with the 1st May, 2019 Naxalite attack in Gadchiroli. In this Naxal attack, 15 commandos were martyred and one civilian was killed. The blast case will be handed over to the National Investigating Agency (NIA) by the local police.

After the arrest of top Naxal commander Narmadakka and her husband Kiran Kumar, information was received about the relationship between Ramchandani and Naxalites. After this, the police investigated the case in border areas of Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh and Ramchandani has been arrested by Gadchiroli police.

It is reported that in the Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra, 15 commandos were martyred in the landmine blast caused by Maoists targeting a security vehicle. The Maoists had also exploded at Kurkheda Tehsil at that time when the state was celebrating its establishment day.

About 10 hours before the incident, suspected Naxalites burnt about 36 vehicles and two site offices of a road construction contractor connected to road construction in Dadarpur village of Gadchiroli.
