The Indian Army has issued a warning to its personnel against Pakistani spies’ attempts to hack their phones through a malicious application similar to the Aarogya Setu app. They have developed a malicious app by the name Aarogya Setu.apk.
“Pakistani Spy agencies have developed a fake app by the name Aarogya Setu.apk. Such apps were found to be sent by Pakistani Intelligence Operatives to WhatsApp groups of Indian Army personnel,” the Indian Army said in its warning.
Pakistani spy agencies are sending these malicious app link by using social media accounts with Indian names to target the Indian personnel.
“Known Pakistani Intelligence Operative account under the fake name of one ‘Anoshka Chopra’ also found sending the malicious application to Indian Army personnel,” the Indian Army sources said.
The Indian Army has asked its personnel to downloaded Aarogya Setu App only from the Indian government website (mygov.in) or Android Play Store or iOS Apple Play Store.
The app should only be downloaded from authenticated URLs :-
