DSP Devinder Singh, arrested on Saturday in Jammu and Kashmir along with two terrorists, will be treated as a terrorist. Inspector General of Jammu and Kashmir said this. Inspector General Vijay Kumar said in a press conference, “We consider DSP Devinder Singh’s involvement along with terrorists as a heinous crime and he will be treated in the same way as other terrorists.”
“The police officer (DSP Devinder Singh) has worked on several anti-militancy operations. But He was arrested along with terrorists yesterday when he was driving the car with terrorists towards Jammu and it is a heinous crime. That is why he is being treated as terrorist and jointly interrogated by all security agencies,” the IGP Viay Kumar said.
DSP Devinder Singh was posted in Anti-Hijacking Squad at Srinagar Airport. He had also received foreign diplomats visiting Jammu and Kashmir on 9th January. DSP Devinder Singh was also a member of the Anti Terror Group.
The IG of Jammu and Kashmir Police said that the police have also recovered 3 AK-47 rifles and 5 hand grenades from Devendra Singh’s residence. Devendra Singh was arrested when he was going somewhere in a car along with the terrorists.
He has arrested along with terrorists Naveed Ahmed Shah alias Naveed Babu and Rafi Ahmed. For the past few days, he was on a holiday. Naveed Babu is a top commander of Hizbul and he was also a police constable of J&K Police in 2017 and had run away with four rifles from Budgam. He has been involved in many attacks on police and civilians.
Security forces have busted several terrorist hideout in valley in recent days. When this news spread yesterday, Many terrorists escaped from a hideout in Shopian.
This terrorist hideout was eight feet under the ground which had food items along with other necessary items.
