During the violence in Uttar Pradesh on the name of citizenship Amendment Act, 57 policemen were shot by protesters. After which a total of 124 FIRs have been registered in UP. 263 policemen have been injured in the violence in Uttar Pradesh. Illegal weapons have been used on a large scale in the violence in the state.

State Director General of Police (Law and Order) Praveen Kumar told that so far 124 FIRs have been registered in the ongoing protests against CAA. 705 people have been arrested, while 4500 people have been detained.
According to IG, 263 policemen were injured in stone pelting, out of which 57 policemen were shot by bullet. He said that 15 people have died in the violence. The police have recovered 405 country made pistols.
IG said that action has been taken against people related to 14,101 objectionable posts on social media. Among these, action has been taken on 5965 posts of Twitter, 7995 of Facebook and 142 offensive posts of YouTube. Of these, 63 FIRs have been registered, while 102 accused have been arrested.
