Rahul Gandhi falsely accuses NSA Ajit Doval, Govt. responds back

Rahul Gandhi accuses the NSA Ajit doval in IC-814 hijack. Rahul Gandhi targeted PM Modi and NSA AJit Doval and said, ” PM Modi please tell the families of our 40 CRPF Shaheeds, who released their murderer, Masood Azhar?

Also tell them that your current NSA was the deal maker, who went to Kandahar to hand the murderer back to Pakistan. “

Government sources on the tweet about Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s tweet about National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, said that in Dec 1999, the decision to release Masood Azhar after the Kandahar aircraft hijack was political. At that time Ajit Doval was an additional director in the intelligence bureau (IB) and he was asked to be present at the time of release.

Government sources also said that Ajit Doval had strongly opposed the release of Maulana Masood Azhar and there was a fierce debate between him and then National Security Advisor (NSA) Brajesh Mishra. Doval had said that the release of terrorists should not have been done and Ajit Doval had demanded 24 hours for the release of people from the clutches of aircraft hijackers. He also said that even if 4-5 people will be killed in the operation but he will also bring the rest of every people. Ajit Doval was present in Kandahar from December 26. Masood Azhar and the remaining two other terrorists were released on December 31, 1999.

The whole incident has also been mentioned in LK Advani’s book ‘My Country, My Life’.

According to sources, in the tweet which Rahul Gandhi had tweeted, Masood Azhar is not with Ajit Doval in that photo. Doval, who was interacting with the Taliban commanders, has photos with them. There is no photograph of Doval with Masood Azhar. Jaswant Singh had gone with Masood Azhar. Ajit Doval had no role in the release of Masood Azhar. Rahul Gandhi’s allegations are completely baseless. Ajit Doval did not leave Masood Azhar. Ajit Doval was not with the discussing team of Masood’s release. he was with the team who were negotiating with aircraft hijackers.
