Addressing the public meeting in Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan between the rising heat of the Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi targeted the Congress. He said, “People who are saying today that the army is not a man’s manor, people of that family used INS Viraat as a private taxi.”
Pm Modi said that the INS Virat was stationed for the guarding of the sea, but it was used to transport Rajiv Gandhi, his family and in-laws to the holidays on an island. INS Viraat stayed on the special island for 10 days for family vacation of Rajiv Gandhi.
Pm Modi also said that, Navy jawans and helicopter were also put into service. Was it not a compromise of national security by taking the foreigners into warship?
