A railway station was set on fire by thousand of protesters in Murshidabd district of West Bengal. They were protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2019. Protesters thrashed the RPF jawans who were on duty at Beldanga railway station in Murshidabad. Murshidabad district of west bengal shares border with Bangladesh.

“The protesters all of a sudden entered the railway station complex and set the platform, two-three buildings and railway offices on fire. When RPF personnel tried to stop them, they were brutally beaten up,” a senior RPF official told news agency PTI.
