Apart from Wing Commander Abhinandan’s Vir Chakra, Indian Air Force’s Squadron Leader Minty Agarwal will be conferred with Yudh Seva Medal for her role as a fighter controller during the February 27 aerial conflict between India & Pakistan post IAF airstrikes in Balakot.
Sqn Ldr Minty Agarwal (31874 ADM) of Barnala based had joined the Indian Air force on 18 June, 2011. After the Balakot Strike on Feb 26, Her main work was to stop the aerial threat as a fighter controller.

The Pilots of Mirage-200 of Indian Air Force who conducted the successful Air Strike on the Jaish-e-Mohammed facility centre at Balakot in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa area of Pakistan on February 26, will be also awarded as Vayu Sena Medals (Gallantry award).
“Slowly but surely, women are making a mark. Yet another feather in the cap,” said Wing Commander Anupama Joshi (retd), from of the first batch of women officers commissioned in the force in 1990.
Apart from Minty Agarwal, four other officers of Indian Air Force have been also awarded Yudh Seva Medal.
