Sri Lanka to Release All Indian Fishermen in its Custody, Says President Gotabaya Rajapaksa after meeting with Modi

Sri Lanka Newly elected President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is currently on visit of India. He met the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, saying that the talks between the two had been “fruitful”. A total of 3,230 crore financial assistance has been given to Sri Lanka from India for development and security. 

After meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has also announced to release all Indian fishermen’s boats in Sri Lankan custody.

Modi said that India has given total $400 million loan facility for the development of Sri Lanka. Pm Modi also announced to give 50 million dollars to Sri Lanka to deal with security related issues. Modi said that he is confident that the new elected Sri Lankan government will fulfill the aspirations of the Tamil community in Sri Lanka.
