Sub Lt Shivangi from Muzaffarpur (Bihar), creates history to become first woman pilot of the Indian Navy

Sub Lieutenant Shivangi has created history today. She has become the first woman pilot of the Indian Navy. Today, Indian Navy’s fleet inducted the first female pilot to fly Dornier surveillance Aircraft.

Sub Lieutenant Shivangi will fly the Dornier for another six months of mission-based flying. She is also aiming to fly P8I long-range maritime aircraft.

Sub Lieutenant Shivangi belongs to Muzaffarpur district of Bihar and She was inducted into Indian Navy as SSC (Pilot) as part of 27 NOC course in Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala and got formally commissioned by Vice Admiral AK Chawla, in June last year.

Sub Lieutenant Shivangi Swaroop has done her schooling from DAV school and she is a graduate in mechanical engineering from the Sikkim-Manipal Institute of Technology.
