The Supreme Court of India has dismissed the Rafale deal review Petition today. The review petition is found to be without any merit as said by the Supreme Court of India.
A three-Judge Bench of Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi with Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and KM Joseph have delivered the judgment in the Rafale Review petitions.
BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi had also filed the plea against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for wrongly attributing to the court his “chowkidar chor hai” slogan against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Rafale case.
The Supreme Court closed the contempt plea and said, “Mr Rahul Gandhi needs to be more careful in future” for attributing to the court his remarks. We do not want to continue proceedings any further ”
Former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha and renowned writer and economist Arun Shourie had filed this review petition against the decision of the Court on 14 December 2018. Earlier The supreme Court in its decision said that no Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry was required to probe the inter-governmental deal for the procurement of Rafale jets.
