Taiwan’s Chief of Military Staff Shen Yi-ming and seven other people lost their lives in a helicopter crash in Taiwan’s mountainous area on Thursday morning. Helicopter was previously reported missing.
According to Taiwan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shen Yi-Ming died when a UH-60M helicopter crashed in a mountainous area near Taipei. Five other people have been rescued. The helicopter was carrying 13 people. They were going to meet the soldiers in northeast County before the New Year.

Total 8 people died in this crash two major generals – Yu Chin-wen, deputy director of Political Warfare Bureau of Taiwan and Hung Hung-chin, deputy chief of the general staff for intelligence of Taiwan.
A lieutenant colonel, a captain has also died in the accident. Taiwan’s Ministry of Defense said in its statement that the crash site of the helicopter has been identified and two black hawks and about 80 military officers have been sent to the crash site.
