The Indo-Tibetan Border Police rescued an injured woman by carrying her on stretcher for 15 hrs on Saturday (August 22, 2020). The woman had fallen accidentally from a hillside near a remote village in Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh district.
“ITBP jawans travelled 40-km on foot for 15 hours carrying an injured woman on a stretcher from a remote village, Lapsa to Munsyari in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand yesterday. During this journey, they crossed flooded nullahs & landslide-prone areas,” ITBP said in a statement.

According to report, A local woman from a remote village Laspa of Munsyari division of Pithoragarh district had broken her leg August 20. The chopper was called in to rescue her, but it couldn’t land for two days due to bad weather conditions.
After receiving information, the 25 brave troops of 14th Battalion ITBP went to village on August 22 by covering a distance of around 22 km from their Border Out Post.
After reaching the village, ITBP troops carried injured woman on a stretcher one by one for 15 hours on foot.
