On Sunday, 5 brave soldiers of security forces lost their lives in an encounter with terrorists in Handwara, Jammu and Kashmir. During the terrorist encounter, Five soldiers including two army officers lost their lives in this operation. The soldiers who lost their lives include a colonel, a major, two army personnel and a sub-inspector of the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Indian Army Major Anuj Sood also lost his life while fighting against terrorists in Handwara. He was just 31 years old and got married 3-4 months back.

Major Sood was born on December 17, 1989 in Bangalore where his father was posted at that time. He qualified for the National Defence Academy (NDA), Pune, in 2012. His sister Harshita Sood is also serving as a Captain in the army. She is a national-level shooter and is currently undergoing training at the Army Marksmanship Unit at Mhow, Indore.
